SUNNYSIDE -- A 5-year-old Sunnyside boy was hit by a car after he reportedly ran in front of the vehicle, Sunnyside police report.

The boy, whose name was not released, was evaluated at Sunnyside Community Hospital and then taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries, including bone fractures.

Witnesses told police that around 8 p.m. Tuesday the boy ran in front of a white Dodge Dakota pickup driving east on Kearney Avenue. The truck hit the boy near Kearney's intersection with South 13th Street.
