Wednesday was great for Steve David and the U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto team. Oberto learned its appeal of losing the San Diego Bayfair race in September was upheld by a committee assigned to hear the appeal.

Villwock, Qatar lead qualifying for San Diego hydroplane race
Dave Villwock cranked out the top qualifying time of the day at Bayfair in San Diego, guiding the U-1 Spirit of Qatar 96 to a time of 162.118 mph, which topped Steve David in the U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto (157.98) by nearly five seconds.

Bayfair in San Diego runs Sept. 14-16, with 11 teams scheduled to appear. Driver Steve David and the U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto will head into the event leading Dave Villwock and the U-1 Spirit of Qatar by 193 points in the H1 Unlimited Series high points championship chase.
