The Whitworth University Laureate Society named 13 students who qualified for the academic honor during the spring semester of 2008: Michelle Creek, Deidra Stands, Lindsay Johnston, Lyle Rauh, Evan Staley and Lora Roosendaal, all of Kennewick; Michaela Allen, Angela Hartley, Derek Higgins, Sarah Mowry and Diana Stapp, all of Richland; and Joy Bacon and Ashley Borders of West Richland. The students qualified by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester. Whitworth is a private liberal-arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in Spokane.
