This 2013 Romanian flick features an incredible performance from Luminita Gheorghiu as the meddling mother from hell. Her estranged son tries to pass someone on a highway and runs over and kills a child. Gheorghiu's Cornelia goes into action to browbeat, bribe and blackmail officials, witnesses and the victim's family to get her son off the hook.
He -- of course -- hates his mom's interference. And so does everyone else.
This is a slow-moving, patiently told and ultimately good character study that features most excellent performances.
It will be shown at 8 p.m. Sept. 26 in the Battelle Auditorium, on Battelle Boulevard, off George Washington Way in Richland.
