Writer/director Ken Scott released this two years ago as Starbuck. Different actors but basically the same screenplay. It went nowhere. Enter comedian Vince Vaughn and a new title, Delivery Man.
This one ought to do a bit better at the box office.
Vaughn is David. He's a meat delivery driver for the family business, aimlessly wandering through life. He's in debt to mafia types after looking for a big score. In his youth, he was a sperm donor and finds out that his seed spawned 533 children 20 years ago. David decides the right thing to do is to meet them anonymously.
Using a cast of mostly unknowns, Scott's film is a sometimes sweet story that plays to Vaughn's comedic strengths and passable dramatic skills. Though Delivery Man is flawed just about everywhere, it somehow manages to deliver.
Never miss a local story.
