Chautauqua was a cultural and social movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries that saw touring groups present lectures, dance, music, drama and other forms of cultural enrichment.
The New Old Time Chautauqua formed in 1981 “to revive the Chautauqua spirit and bring live entertainment and educational workshops to diverse rural communities,” a news release said.
