You can spend an evening with Andrew Lloyd Webber's music Aug. 9 during the Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre's annual fundraiser.
Showtime is 6 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel in Kennewick, next to the Columbia Center mall. Tickets are $50 and include hors d'oeuvres and beverages.
The show takes the audience on a musical journey through all of the legendary composer's great works, from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to Phantom of the Opera.
"There will be some talking through the show between some of the songs," said Robbie Heegel, with the theater group. "But mostly it'll be like a concert of music by Andrew Lloyd Webber."
Performing a range of familiar tunes from Cats, Phantom, Dreamcoat and others will be Tri-City vocalists Jill Madison, Megan Johnson, Julie Heegel, Abigail Bennett, Sarah Shaff, Tyler Zirker, James Bennett, Rob Hanson, Karl Hedlund and Bryan Foley.
There also will be some treasures up for auction at the event, Heegel said.
Tickets to the show are available at Adventures Underground in the Uptown Shopping Center and the Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet, both in Richland. Tickets are also at mcmt.tix.com.
Proceeds from the event help promote the nonprofit corporation's mission, which is to produce and stage amateur theatrical productions and related recreational, educational and public service activities.
The theater group was formerly known as the Richland Light Opera Company.
