Dumas Station Winery in Dayton will feature the pottery of Seattle artist Loren Lukens from May 2-4 that includes a visit from the artist.
"Loren Lukens is bringing his work from Seattle specifically for this event," said Ali Harvey, conductor of sales and marketing for Dumas Station Winery. "A lot of wineries in the Walla Walla Valley host art exhibits, but not many host pottery along with the artist."
Luken's pottery art is functional and not meant to sit on a shelf, Harvey said.
In addition to beautiful vases, Lukens creates tableware, dinner plates, salad plates, bowls and mugs that all match, she added.
"His pieces are aesthetically beautiful, but also useful," Harvey said.
The exhibition ties in with the winery's spring release party with wine tasting from 1 to 5 p.m. May 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4. There are no tasting fees.
The winery is at 36229 Highway 12.
