Music that never gets old will be featured during this summer's Maryhill Winery concert series.
The season includes Styx and Foreigner on Aug. 2, Peter Frampton and his Guitar Circus on Aug. 23 and the best of Jethro Tull music performed by its lead singer Ian Anderson on Sept. 13.
The concerts are in the amphitheater next to the winery on Highway 14, which overlooks the Columbia River near Goldendale.
"The talent that has crossed our stage over the years has been incredible, and this year is no exception," said Craig Leuthold, owner of the Maryhill Winery, in an email to the Herald. "We started the summer concert series 10 years ago with a pop-up stage, but quickly realized that by combining great music with our stunning location and exceptional wine, Maryhill could become more than just a winery for our fans. It's now a tradition."
Peter Frampton's Guitar Circus showcases the Grammy winning guitarist's greatest hits including, Show Me the Way, Baby I Love Your Way and Do You Feel Like We Do.
Styx is best known for its '80s hits, Come Sail Away, Lady and Renegade and had 16 top 40 hits from 1984-95. Today, the band is made up of original members Chuck Panozzo, Tommy Shaw, James Young, and newer members Todd Sucherman, Lawrence and Ricky Phillips.
Foreigner is a British-American rock band that formed in 1976 with Brits Mick Jones and Ian McDonald, along with American Lou Gramm. The band released 10 multiplatinum albums and had 16 top 30 hits in its heyday. Gramm left the group twice between 1976 and 2003. Today, the band includes Jones, Thom Gimbel, Jeff Pilson, Kelly Hansen, Michael Bluestein, Chris Frazier and Bruce Watson.
Brit Ian Anderson was the lead vocalist for the Jethro Tull rock group, which formed in 1967. He also was the Tull's flautist and acoustic guitarist.
