WALLA WALLA -- The Great Kaplan -- aka David Kaplan -- brings his lively show to the Gesa Power House Theatre on April 10 for an evening of fun for the whole family.
Kaplan is a juggler, magician, inventor, musician and comedian who blends it all into a vaudeville-type show that is as entertaining to adults as it is for kids.
Showtime is 6 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for kids and available at www.phtww.com.
Kaplan explains on website that his character is an earnest vaudeville performer who gets caught in the crosshairs of the universe. Then when his world starts crumbling, he manages to levitate a bowling ball, juggle furniture, perform uncommon feats of magic, while playing melodies on a balloon, a turkey baster and his great grandfather's ukulele.
Kaplan has been awarded the Canton Battle of Magicians award, and he also was the people's choice winner at the 2006 International Brotherhood of Magicians Convention. In 2010, he earned the Mandrake d'Or award, which is part of the International Festival of Illusion and Conjuring held annual in Paris.
