Some of the coolest Western artwork on the planet will be part of the annual Ritzville Western Art Show and Historic Days happening May 25-26.
But that's not the only reason you might want to visit Ritzville. There will be a plethora of cowboy singers and poets entertaining throughout the three-day event.
Nevada Slim and Cimarron Sue will be there, along with Mary Kaye Knaphus and cowboy poet Les Buffham. Also appearing will be singer Barbara Nelson and the last of the vaudeville cowboys, Sourdough Slim.
"Historic Ritzville Days promises to showcase a wide variety of artists and mediums, complemented by an amazing lineup of Western entertainment," said Jennifer Saunders, chairman of the event. "The impressive roster includes nationally acclaimed artists Robert Walton, Betty Billups, Ron Adamson and Gabe Gabel."
Never miss a local story.
The festival will have a youth art experience center where kids can spend the afternoon learning papermaking and marbling. There also will be stick horse races.
Hours for the festival are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 25 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 26. Admission is free.
