Columbia River Paddle Fest is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 10-11 at Howard Amon Park in Richland.
The annual event, now in its eighth year, is a family-friendly event that allows people to see what paddling is all about.
There will be kayaks and paddleboards on site for people to try out, and lessons are available for $20 for a two-hour session.
"This area offers paddling at all different skill levels," said Chris Vowels with Columbia Kayak Adventures. He invites newcomers to the sport to see how easy it is to learn how to use a paddleboard or kayaks and the joys of spending time on all the Mid-Columbia's many waterways.
