Ben Franklin Transit will offer a special shuttle service to the fair Aug. 21-25.
Attendees can purchase a combo admission ticket to the fair plus roundtrip bus fare for $12 for ages 13 to 64, and $7 for ages 65 and older and children ages 6 to 12.
Individual costs are $1.50 each way per person or $4 each way for a family of five. Seniors and the disabled with valid transit ID cards can ride for 75 cents each way. Kids ages 5 and younger ride free.
A bus pass for the entire week is $8.50, and there is no ride limit. Tickets are available at Tri-City Albertsons stores, Yoke's Fresh Markets, Ranch & Home stores and the Three Rivers Transit Center.
Buses depart throughout each day, starting around 9 a.m., from the Knight Street Transit Center in Richland, TRAC's south parking lot in Pasco, the 22nd Street Transit Center in Pasco, as well as Kamiakin High School and Lampson Stadium in Kennewick.
During the day, Benton City and Prosser residents can also catch the Route 120 eastbound buses to connect with the Knight Street shuttle to the fair. Evening riders can catch the 7:10 p.m. shuttle from the West Richland Transit Center.
Here is the tentative schedule. All times are approximate:
-- Kennewick service from Lampson Stadium and Kamiakin High School departs about every 30 minutes between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and departs from the fairgrounds every 30 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Evening service from Kennewick is about every 15 minutes until 11:45 p.m.
-- Pasco service from TRAC leaves every hour between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Buses leave from the Pasco Transit Center at 22nd Avenue and Sylvester Street every 30 minutes between 9:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. with evening service every 15 minutes up until midnight.
-- Richland service from the Knight Street Transit Center is every 30 minutes between 9:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., with evening service every 15 minutes up until midnight.
