The Allied Arts Gallery and Academy of Children's Theatre will offer plenty of workshops for kids during the summer.
Classes fill up pretty quick, so advance registration is encouraged.
"We will be offering seven different classes for children this summer," said Bob Allen of the Allied Arts Gallery in Richland. "Each one-week class will have two sessions per day for ages 7 to 10 and for ages 11 to 15. In the past, these classes have proven highly popular with both students and parents."
Subjects for the workshops include sculpturing, professional drawing, the art of weaving, wet and wild watercolors, elements of creative drawing, photography and Celtic art.
Never miss a local story.
"Each class has 18 kids per class and they fill up fast," said Gail Roadhouse, one of the art instructors.
The two-week courses, which are held at the gallery at 89 Lee Blvd., Richland, start June 11 and end in August. Cost is $50 per session. To register, contact Roadhouse at firstname.lastname@example.org or 967-6697.
The Academy of Children's Theatre also offers a wide range of acting, music and dance, as well as technical theater workshops throughout the summer.
The sessions start June 25 and continue through Aug. 17 and are held at the ACT studio, 213 Wellsian Way in Richland.
Each workshop varies in price, from $45 to $230. For more information, call 946-6027 or go to www.academyofchildrenstheatre.org.
