A fundraiser for former Tri-Citian Dennis Nostrant, who needs a liver transplant, will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 23 at the fairgrounds in Waitsburg.
Admission to the event is $10 and includes dinner, a silent auction and a drawing. The dinner includes pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad and baked beans. The drawing will be for a half a beef with tickets selling for $5 each.
Nostrant, who now lives near Pullman, was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in 1979 on Fruitland Avenue in Kennewick, said his mother, Helen Nostrant of Richland. The injury led to a liver disease, and Nostrant is 13th on the list for a transplant, which will cost $350,000.
Her son, 58, is a graduate of Sunnyside High School and Columbia Basin College.
Proceeds from the event will go to the National Transplant Fund in Nostrant's name. Nostrant will be at the fundraiser along with others who also are waiting for transplants.
