Justin Shandor doesn't just look like Elvis, he also sings like Elvis.
And we're not talking about just lip-synching.
"One guy left the room where I was playing in Vegas and complained to the management that he didn't pay to hear someone lip-sync Elvis songs," he told the Herald a few years ago.
So to prove it really was him singing, Shandor stopped the music and kept on singing.
Shandor, who grew up in Portland, has been making a nice living performing as an Elvis impersonator for several years.
The last time he performed in the Tri-Cities was in 2006. He'll return for a one-night show March 25 at Classic Island Casino, 8524 W. Gage Boulevard, behind Columbia Center mall.
For those who have seen Shandor's show, there is little doubt he really could be The King incarnate in looks and singing power.
Even the Presley estate folks at Graceland were fooled, and sent Shandor a letter telling him he did not have permission to use Elvis' photo for his promotions.
"It wasn't a photo of Elvis they were looking at," said Jaime Goetz, Shandor's publicist. "It was Justin dressed like Elvis. So now we call that photo the picture that fooled Graceland."
Tickets to the show are $20 for general admission or $25 for preferred seating, and are available by phone at 374-3289.
