The Christian rock band Fireflight returns to the Tri-Cities on April 17.
The Dove Award-winning rockers will perform at Columbia Community Church, 150 Gage Blvd., Richland. Opening for the group will be another Christian group, Broken.
Showtime is 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Admission is $14 in advance or $15 at the door. Advance tickets are available at Parable Bible Bookstore, Bible Shoppe, Ted Brown Music store or the church. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketswest.com.
Justin Fox, the band's guitarist, said Fireflight's sound is Christian hard rock with an edge. "I'm not sure how grunge got attached to our music, but that is definitely the wrong way to describe our music," Fox told the Herald last year. "Heavy music, yes, but not grunge."
Fireflight is made up of Fox, Dawn Richardson on lead vocals, Wendy Drennen on bass, Glenn Drennen on guitar and Phee Shorb on drums. The quintet has been together for nine years and caught a recording break in 2004 when they were signed with Flicker Records. That association produced a debut album, The Healing of Harms, in 2006.
