Adorable felines will be the topic of Michael Kloth's exhibition, which opens March 7 in the Art Exhibition Center at Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland.
Titled Shelter Cats: Larger than Life, the show features about 15 limited edition photographs of babies to adult cats. Most were taken of inmates at the Benton Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick.
The photos are either 20 inches square or 20 by 30 inches. Prices for the photographs have not yet been established, Kloth said.
Kloth plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from all shelter animal photos to the Humane Society in Kennewick and the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter in Pasco.
Never miss a local story.
"Most of the animals featured in the show were adopted by Tri-City residents," Kloth said. "The show supports my goal of helping adoptable animals find homes."
Kloth's published book, Shelter Cats, also is available at the campus bookstore for $22.95.
The photo exhibition runs through April 1 at the exhibition center. Admission is free.
There will be a reception for the artist from 5 to 6 p.m. March 9. The exhibit center is open from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
The center is in Room 102 in the Consolidated Information Center on the Richland campus.
