The Othello Sandhill Crane Festival is adding events focusing on the Ice Age floods that formed the Mid-Columbia for this year's celebration.
Organizers say the annual festival that honors the unusual migratory birds that spend late winter in the region is on track for March 25-27, and they're accepting event registrations starting March 4.
The event will include tours of the area and talks focusing on local birds, bird songs, sagebrush conservation and the history of the Potholes area.
For information on the tours being held throughout the month, call the Mid-Columbia River National Wildlife Refuges complex at 509-546-8300.
Never miss a local story.
