More than 40 hot air balloons will float through Walla Walla's skies May 7-9 during the 36th annual Balloon Stampede.
The Walla Walla County Fairgrounds is the site for almost all of the activities. Hours are 3 to 9 p.m. May 7; 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 8; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 9.
On May 7 the balloons will be at various schools around town. For help in finding the schools, call the chamber at 509-525-0850 or go to www.wwps.org.
Weather permitting, the balloons will launch at 6:30 a.m. from the fairgrounds and Garrison Middle School on May 8-9. A pancake breakfast for $5 per person will be served until 10 a.m. following each launch.

At the fairgrounds, there will be a variety of arts and crafts and commercial and food vendors.
The main stage will feature entertainment from acrobats to singers and musicians. Classic cars will be at the fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 8.
The Nite Glow show which includes a concert and fireworks will be at 7 p.m. May 8 in the grandstands.
