Mick Jagger impersonator Dick Swagger may be more than a dozen years younger than the iconic Rolling Stones singer, but Swagger promises his tribute band will make you see and hear double at this year's Irish Games in Pasco.
"We're the very best of the Stones -- live," Swagger said. "That's our tagline. Come and check it out and make up your own impression."
Fans can get a taste of the real thing when the Hollywood Stones perform at 9:30 p.m. March 20 at TRAC in Pasco.
For the California band, this won't be their first trip to Eastern Washington.
Never miss a local story.
"We did a show in Spokane at the Met some years back, so we have been up there," Swagger said.
The group first called themselves the Sticky Fingers Band in 1994 after they met through trade papers, friends of friends and word of mouth. Transforming into the Stones in all aspects, they don't give out their real names, just their stage names.
The group includes rhythm guitarist Keef Riffoff as Keith Richards, drummer Harley Watts as Charlie Watts, bassist Will Hyman as Bill Wyman and Rick Taylor covering the roles of Brian Jones, Ronnie Woods and Mick Taylor.
Each member works on side projects and bands, but Hollywood Stones is their main focus and labor of love.
Though some have called them the nation's "premiere Rolling Stones tribute band," the group remains level-headed and grateful.
"It makes us feel great," Swagger said. "We paid a lot of attention to details. The big fans really notice it and let us know how much they appreciate it."
Fans can look forward to Monkey Man, off the '69 album Let It Bleed, which is the group's favorite song to perform. Swagger explains the track is so diverse, it never gets old.
Hollywood Stones emulates the uber famous rock veterans down to a T and are definitely something Rolling Stones fans will find worth seeing.
"All the Rolling Stones fans are just great," Swagger said.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door and are available at Ranch & Home, TRAC box office and at www.traconline.com. The show is for ages 21 and older.
