The annual Tumbleweed Folk Music Festival, which happens Labor Day weekend, will feature much more than traditional folk music.
The Three Rivers Folklife Society event will draw a plethora of music genres from Latin, to rock to gypsy jazz.
Festival hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 30-31 in Howard Amon Park in Richland. Four stages will be set up throughout the park. Admission is free during the day.
Tickets to the Saturday night concert in the park and the Sunday night contra dance at the Richland Community Center cost $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the gate.
The Three Rivers Folklife Society is a nonprofit organization that formed in 1988 for the purpose of promoting folk music in the Tri-Cities. The group sponsors several concerts throughout the year that are smoke-free and alcohol-free events.
The Tumbleweed Festival began in 1987 and has become a popular folklife festival in the Northwest, drawing music fans from up and down the West Coast.
