Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre’s production of Ragtime continues this weekend.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18-19 and 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at Richland High School, 930 Long Ave.
The show centers on three groups of people in the early 1900s in New York: the talented Harlem musician Coalhouse Walker Jr., his love Sarah and their circle; an upper-crust New Rochelle family; and Eastern European immigrants, including Tateh, a gifted but struggling artist and father.
Several real-life historic figures also turn up, such as Booker T. Washington.
Never miss a local story.
The poignant show touches on timely topics including racism, classism and gender equality.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 60 and older and $10 for students and children. They’re available at Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet, Adventures Underground, Visit Tri-Cities, at the door and at midcolumbiamusicaltheatre.org.
