50-word statement: As Chair of the State Forecast Council, McIntire demands revenue forecasts be non-partisan and accurate.
As House Finance Committee Chair, McIntire won audits of tax breaks, and sponsored voter-approved "Rainy Day" fund legislation.
A former Battelle scientist, McIntire is a private-sector economist and teaches UW graduate students in public administration.
Three priorities:
- Work with the governor and the legislature to develop a long term plan to finance the capital investments needed in schools, transportation systems, and local infrastructure to keep our economy moving forward.
- Protect the taxpayers' money by making smart investments and structuring our state debt in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Ensure our worker's compensation and pension funds are invested intelligently and remain fiscally healthy.
