Election briefs: Othello mayor

By the Herald staff

Tim Wilson appears to be Othello's next mayor.

Both Wilson and his opponent, Ken Johnson, are current city council members. Wilson, parts manager of Evergreen Implement, led Tuesday's count with 342 votes, or 68 percent.

Johnson, manager of Johnson's Glass & Door, trailed with 163 votes, or 32 percent.

Wilson has said he thinks the city should consider adding an employee to promote tourism.

In Adams County, an estimated 500 ballots remain to be counted. A total of 6,083 ballots were mailed out. Results will be updated today and be certified on Nov. 24.
