Who can resist cheesy, fresh out of the oven pizza? Tim Curet and his wife Saundra opened Brick House Pizza in West Richland 19 years ago. The couple decided on the name because the song ‘Brick House’ by the Commodores played at their wedding. They also wanted a name that would be close to the beginning of the alphabet so people could find it quickly in a phone book.
The Curets decided on the West Richland location because it was a growing community, and there was a need for a place with diverse food. Brick House Pizza remains a family business, as son Hunter works as a manager.
“We are best known for the sauce,” said Tim Curet, who has Louisiana roots. He learned his cooking skills from his grandmother, who was not fond of measuring. This is where the kick in his red sauce comes from. He also has a white sauce that goes great with his artichoke garlic chicken and roasted garlic chicken pizzas.
A popular pizza is the Pickle Face, a red sauce pizza featuring salami, dill pickles pepperoni and sausage. Pizzas are made with a whole milk mozzarella without any fillers, and they are cooked on rocks in the oven to give them extra flavor.
Never miss a local story.
