Mark Walker wants to make one thing clear: If you buy your furniture at Walker’s Furniture, you’re bound to walk out happy and satisfied.
“Our very first goal is to give the customer an exceptional shopping experience from beginning to end,” he said. “A lot of businesses say they have great customer service, but I believe Walker’s truly delivers in that arena.”
Walker’s Furniture first opened in Spokane in 1980, came to the Tri-Cities in April 1986 and now is on the corner of Clearwater Avenue and Morain Street in Kennewick. There are 14 stores serving the Inland Northwest.
Walker’s has what the buyer wants. The company began by specializing in solid oak furniture and has since become a full-line furniture dealer offering upholstered furniture, including leather, and a wide selection of fabric items.
The growth of the past 16 years gives Walker’s great buying power, allowing the company to offer the best selections of stylish furniture at a great value. The 150,000-square-foot warehouse in Spokane makes it possible to keep 80 percent to 90 percent of what it shows in its showroom in stock.
“Our approximate delivery time is one week,” Walker said. “Fast delivery without having to wait. People seem to like that.”
Besides great furniture, great prices and great customer service, Walker’s also strives to offer a pressure-free environment to make the buying experience pleasurable for the customer.
“We don’t want people to feel like they are buying a car when they step into our store,” Walker said. “We want them to be comfortable and happy and pleased with the outcome of their visit. Our main goal really is to provide the customer a great shopping experience, as we plan to be around for another 40-plus years to service the needs of Tri-Citians.”
Walker’s Furniture is in the process of remodeling and plans to be finished by mid-summer. They are still open for business during the remodel.
