Unique. Distinctive. Matchless. All are words to describe Nouveau Day Spa — a relaxing destination located in the heart of the Tri-Cities.
“We toured a lot of places in Arizona and California, but they were always about an hour out of town,” Jenna Waltze said, remembering how she and her husband, Kris, wanted to offer spa services that were convenient but special.
Both owners knew whatever they built in their new Kennewick location should feel like a getaway, one with a strong appeal for busy people. The result has been a spacious spa, the interior designed by Kris.
“He upped the ceilings to 12 feet instead of the original 10,” Jenna said about the building. “He figured the placement for the treatment rooms, and we made everything bigger in each room by a couple of feet. Our employees love it; our clients love it.”
Never miss a local story.
The entrepreneurs are delighted to offer one-of-a-kind spa services, such as the Microsilk Hydrotherapy soaking tub in a candlelit setting with light reflecting off decorative mirrors. What the treatment’s oxygenated water does for a client’s skin brings customers by word of mouth, Kris said about the remarkable skin treatment outcome.
“The way people’s skin is before and after is amazing,” said Kris, who was first introduced to the spa tub at a Las Vegas convention. “It gives you new, shiny and tight skin. I’ve personally seen the results, and it has even helped people with psoriasis — and without any chemicals.”
Another unique treatment is the Vichy shower with a metal arm that sits above and parallel to a spa bed. Warm or hot water flows out of six massaging heads “like a warm waterfall on your body,” Jenna said about the finisher that follows a body treatment.
Whether it’s a Bio-Hydroderm Facial that infuses serum for exfoliation, a couple’s massage, a perfect hairstyle or a manicure and pedicure, the amenities and sale of products involve a staff of about 50 employees.
“We have the best of the best employees in the Tri-Cities,” Kris said “We send them out for training, and they come back with new ideas — and they’re even better than before.”
