You name it, the folks at Monarch Tattoo can draw it.
Whether it’s an intricate tiger on your back or a delicate flower on your ankle, the artists at the Kennewick shop leave customers satisfied.
Each of the four artists at Monarch have diverse artistic backgrounds, allowing them to specialize in a variety of tattoos, said Kody Flannery, part owner.
“All of us have been involved with art from when were wee lads,” he said. “This is kinda what our passion culminated in.”
The shop on West Kennewick Avenue, in the heart of downtown, not only has been a staple in the local tattoo scene for years.
Jerrett Spaeth started Monarch 15 years ago. He has since been joined by co-owners Flannery and Jason Young, who worked at the shop for years. The fourth artist is Matt Jewell.
Each has his own style that translates into beautiful, detailed tattoos, Flannery said. Their individual artwork even hangs on the shop’s walls, along with work of other artists.
“It brings a nice, welcoming atmosphere,” Flannery said.
He says there is a family feel to the shop that makes customers feel welcome and brings them back.
When asked what sets Monarch apart from other tattoo parlors, Flannery is quick to point out the friendly feel of the shop and the great artwork.
“They know that we do great work. They know when they come in, they leave happy with the tattoo,” he said. “We are client friendly. We treat everyone like family.”
