By the Herald staff

RICHLAND -- Wayne Jones, professor of chemistry at the State University of New York, will discuss "How Small Can You Go? Molecular Wires and Devices" on Wednesday in Richland.

Jones will discuss how sensors and switches can be made from nanomaterials and potential applications in environmental systems. That could include ensuring safe drinking water or identifying industrial pollutants.

His talk will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Battelle Auditorium off Battelle Boulevard in Richland.

The talk is sponsored by the Richland Section of the American Chemical Society.
