Crush grapes, run in 5K at Airfield Estates event

Experience the beauty of grapes on the vine and the fun of crushing them at Airfield Estates' second annual Vineyard Run and Grape Stomp on Oct. 11.

The 5K run starts at 10:30 a.m. at Airfield Estates Vineyards, 2561 Harrison Road, Sunnyside. Check-in at 10 a.m.

Cost is $10 for early registration, $15 on race day. Children are free.

From 2 to 5 p.m., help crush 10,000 pounds of grapes to live polka music at Airfield Estates Winery in Prosser, 560 Merlot Drive.

Wine tasting and winemaking 101 sessions also will be available, as well as gourmet bites from Seattle-based Diane's Market Kitchen, chocolate treats from Chukar Cherries and a sampling of grape seed oil products from Apres Vin.

Cost is $25 for early registration or $30 on stomp day. Children are free.

Cost for both events is $30 for early registration or $35 on the day of.
