Battelle recently gave Tri-Cities Research District a gift of $100,000 to help attract technology-based businesses to the area.
“The dollars being provided by Battelle emphasize the importance of this project to the overall region,” said Diahann Howard, the district’s executive director. The district board is currently working on creating a master plan for 500 acres of undeveloped property within the 1,600- acre-district, which lies north of Stevens Center and east of Stevens Drive in Richland.
