Annie Fowler was born and raised in Eastern Oregon and graduated from Southern Oregon University in 1988 with degrees in communication and journalism. She has been at the Herald since March of 2000 and began covering the Tri-City Americans in 2002. She still enjoys a good game of football, but these days she gets her fill by watching her son play for Southridge High School. |
The Americans are having a press conference Friday at Kimo's. There's supposed to be a surprise announcement, some food and later a story for me to write.
Well, I know what (who) the "surprise" is, so I'm hoping the food is as good as everyone says it is. I still have to write the story, and barring any mid-afternoon graduations, we should have a photo of the mysterious event (person).
After a few weeks of high school tennis, a little dose of hockey will be nice. But I don't get the need for secrecy.
Keeping your team in the news is good publicity. I just think they should have announced the "secret," held this shindig at the rink and invited the masses. They should share the future of the team with all first hand, not through my hands.
