Drew Schoneck no longer unemployed

News from the Prince George Citizen:

Former Prince George Cougars head coach Drew Schoneck is unemployed no more.

Schoneck, fired by the Cougars in the middle of the season, has surfaced as the head coach and general manager of the Tri-City Storm of the U.S. Hockey League, a junior A circuit.

The Storm, freshly-purchased by Las Vegas businessman Kirk Brooks, are located in Kearney, Nebraska, and play out of the 5,000-seat FirsTier Center, which Brooks also owns.

"It's been in the works for about three weeks," said Schoneck, a former Tri-City American defenseman.

Schoneck, who has been living in Pasco since he left the Cougars, agreed to a two-year contract plus an option. Financial terms were not disclosed.
