A golfer in the making

Last week, we received a note about an aspiring young golfer in the Tri-Cities.

Watch out for this kid — Jakeb Vallance of Richland.

Earlier this summer, John Vallance Jr., took his sons out to Columbia Park Golf Course. His 4-year-old, Jakeb, stepped up to No. 17.

"He drove the ball off the tee — 94 yards onto the green. From there, it was 25 feet to the hole, and he putted it right in for a birdie."

Proud Papa added, "We heard, at about the same time this event took place, of a 6-year-old boy (in Dearborn, Mich.) who made a hole in one on the national news."

Well, thanks to the beauty of the World Wide Web, Jakeb Vallance now has made international news with this blog post.
