4 strikes should be out for WSU’s Hicks

I will be curious to hear if James Carville talks again today about Washington State University football on his 60/20 Sports program with Luke Russert on XM Satellite Radio.

Last month, Carville “loved” the Calvin Schmidtke debacle and new WSU coach Paul Wulff’s explanation for pulling the scholarship from the Tacoma prep star. Schmidtke compiled 11 citations within an 18-month span during his “career” at Lakes High School.

Well, WSU safety Xavier Hicks Jr. is closing in on Schmidtke in terms of brushes with the law.

Hicks got cited for driving with a suspended license on Wednesday. He got pulled over in Pullman, minutes after he completed his 45-day stint in the Whitman County jail for using someone else’s credit card, trying to blind teammate Grady Maxwell and then violating terms of his work-release agreement.

The product of Fullerton, Calif., already was suspended for the first three games of the season.

Do Cougar fans really want to be rooting for Hicks at all this fall? This blog would suggest the answer is no.

Cougar Nation likely will get a break today from Carville because today's broadcast will be dedicated to the memory of Luke Russert's father, Tim.
