Blips

I like to refer to all those little changes in my kids as they grow up as "blips."

They aren’t significant enough to be milestones, but as they happen, they hit me in a way like, that says “Something has changed, and it isn’t going back."

We had one this past week regarding my son and his pajamas.

I have a thing for cute pajamas. Carters had my number for the last 4.5 years.

Thankfully, my daughter still allows me to exercise my need to buy fuzzy cute pajamas with her since my son is fully rejecting them.

“No, I don’t want fire truck pajamas, or monkey pajamas. I want Star Wars: The Clone Wars pajamas!” he cried. (Or you could insert “Batman” or “Scooby Doo” or “Transformers” in for Star Wars.)

It’s not significant. Except that it means my little baby boy not only is asserting his opinion, but he is also rejecting “cute.” Just a blip.

My daughter will never do this. I am positive.
