April Carman writes about a typical nuclear family. That's a mom, dad, two kids and a dog, living (or should I say, surviving) life in the Tri-Cities. Have a question or comment? Click here to send it in.

Valentine’s Day

We were having breakfast this morning when my son decided to divulge what he got everyone for Valentine's Day.

He made it a whole 18 hours since we had been at Target shopping.

"Daddy, I got you chocolates," he said.

To his sister he says, "And I got you candy."

My nearly 2-year old pipes up: "I want money," she says.

We all burst into laughter.

"You cannot convince me there isn't something in those girl genes," AB says.

My daughter, reveling in the attention, continues on and reveals herself to be the ultimate mimic...

"And jobs, too!" she exclaims.

"And you can't tell me that the kids don't pay closer attention to the TV than we think!" I told my husband.

Sunday morning news was on with ongoing debate on the economic stimulus plan.
