Tri-City historical photo galleries are hot

Historical photo galleries have been a huge hit on tricityherald.com.

In March, these galleries accounted for more than 295,000 page views, and were the second-most popular section of our website.

It’s easy to see why from some of the e-mails that Andy Perdue, our Interactive Media director, has received.

One writer said he’d found a photo of his grandparents, the only picture of the two together that he’d ever seen.

Another wrote, “Dear Mr. Perdue - Just a little note of thanks. I graduated from Erwin S. Black high school in 1952. My father was the algebra teacher there. He transferred to Seattle and that was the last time I have ever seen Kennewick. It was so enoyable to see the place again, most nostalgic.”

Still another wrote, “Thanks for putting this together and distributing it. My siblings (KHS, 1968, 1970, 1971, and 1975) and I (KHS, 1964) are looking through them with much interest.”

Whether you’re a Tri-City oldtimer or new to the community, the historical galleries are a way to either reconnect or connect with this unique community.

You can find three of the most recent galleries on our front page. Or you can find all 10 of the galleries (More to come) by clicking here.

Check them out.
