Winery offers 4th annual shellfish festival Oct. 3

QUINCY -- White Heron Cellars outside Quincy will be celebrating harvest with shellfish, sausages and music Oct. 3.

The shellfish menu includes three types of oysters -- kumamotos, pacificas, and virginicas -- as well as mussels and clams. Visconti's Cured of Leavenworth will also be preparing and selling its gourmet sausages.

There will be two singer-songwriter duos. Sidestreet Reny, which does pre-war blues, old school hip hop and dance hall reggae, and acoustic blues musicians Ravin'wolf will play during the day.

The cost is $10 at the door. Plates of raw or cooked shellfish/sausages will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 509-797-9463 or go to www.whiteheronwine.com. The winery is between Quincy and Wenatchee off Highway 28.

Cellars seek to stomp out breast cancer at event

There's a $5 entry fee for each team, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Register ahead and you'll receive a pink "Stomp Out Breast Cancer" bracelet.
