Winery offers 4th annual shellfish festival Oct. 3
QUINCY -- White Heron Cellars outside Quincy will be celebrating harvest with shellfish, sausages and music Oct. 3.
The shellfish menu includes three types of oysters -- kumamotos, pacificas, and virginicas -- as well as mussels and clams. Visconti's Cured of Leavenworth will also be preparing and selling its gourmet sausages.
There will be two singer-songwriter duos. Sidestreet Reny, which does pre-war blues, old school hip hop and dance hall reggae, and acoustic blues musicians Ravin'wolf will play during the day.

Winery holds 6th annual Harvest Festival Oct. 3
QUINCY -- Cave B Estate Winery will hold its sixth annual Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 3. This is a family-friendly event with cooking demonstrations, pumpkin carving, cookie decorating, winemaking activities, orchard tours, hay rides, apple-cider making and -- the always-favorite event -- the Great Grape Stomping Competitions. Admission is free.
A barbecue meal will be available for purchase. The cost is $15 for adults, $7 for children 6-12 and $5 for children 5 and under.
For those 21 and over, wine tasting is $6 per person.

Cellars seek to stomp out breast cancer at event
ZILLAH -- Claar Cellars' 13th annual "Help Stomp Out Breast Cancer" event will be Oct. 2-4 at the tasting room in Zillah, at exit 52 off I-82. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Oct. 3, there will be a grape stomping competition beginning at 3 p.m. Teams of two will compete -- one stomping, one catching the resulting juice in a wine bottle.
There's a $5 entry fee for each team, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Register ahead and you'll receive a pink "Stomp Out Breast Cancer" bracelet.
Claar Cellars' Busty Blush, a ros, will be available for purchase with $1 of each sale going to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle to help support breast cancer research.

Winery event benefits children's center
BENTON CITY -- Keith and ReNae Pilgrim, owners of Terra Blanca Winery and Estate Vineyard in Benton City, will host Cuisine de Vin at 7 p.m. Oct. 3. The wine and food pairing event is a fundraiser for the Children's Developmental Center in Richland.
The cost is $50 per person.
