Winery celebrates harvest with stomp
ZILLAH -- Celebrate the fall harvest Saturday at Silver Lake Winery in Zillah, 1500 Vintage Road. There will be live music, grape stomping contests, food and wine from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Local farmers featured at winery event
QUINCY -- The third annual Farmer Consumer Awareness Day Chef Extravaganza will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at White Heron Cellars, Quincy.
The event features three chefs and a variety of ingredients grown within 20 miles of the winery. The Sagebrush Skillet Lickers will bring their original Americana rock 'n' roll to entertain.
The Extravaganza is held in an outdoor amphitheater. The cost is $30 at the door for all you can eat. Bring chairs.
The winery is off Highway 28 between Quincy and Wenatchee.
Grape stomp promises fun, prizes in Prosser
PROSSER -- Squeeze the grapes the old-fashioned way with your feet at the Grape Stomp and Barbecue on Sept. 12 at Chateau Champoux in Prosser.
There will be prizes for each three-person team.
The cost is $45, which includes contest participation, a T-shirt, barbecue lunch and wine tasting; or $35 for the lunch and wine tasting only.
The winery is at 524 Alderdale Road.
Chefs compete at Wild About Game weekend
WELCHES, Ore. -- The ninth annual Wild About Game weekend at the Resort at the Mountain in Welches will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27.
Northwest game chefs perform a cooking competition and cooking demonstrations. A marketplace will offer food and wine tasting.
Paul Bosch, executive chef at the Resort at the Mountain, will prepare a game dinner buffet at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and include the cook-off, cooking demonstrations, wine seminar and marketplace. The buffet dinner costs $55 per person. A $75 combination ticket includes everything.
