Looking for some fun and entertainment? Planning a vacation and looking for a destination?
There's an abundance of wine and food, beer and food, and just plain food events in the Northwest in the next few weeks.
If you're heading for Canada you'll want to check out Taste: Victoria's Festival of Food and Wine on July 16-19. Closer to home there's a Fourth of July barbecue and fireworks at Silver Lake Winery in Zillah and wine tasting and a cooking demonstration July 18 in Quincy.

Fireworks, wine tasting
ZILLAH -- The fourth annual Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail's "Red, White and Blues Festival" is July 3-5 at the various member wineries of the Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail.
During the day many of the wineries will have live blues music, food vendors and arts and crafts at their tasting rooms.
The main event Saturday takes place at Silver Lake Winery at Roza Hills in Zillah. Tickets are $50 and can be bought at www.shopwineyakima.com.
After your first complimentary glass, you can buy a glass of your favorite Rattlesnake Hills wine, listen to the Coyote Kings blues music, enjoy a barbecue dinner and fireworks.

Wine tasting, lunch
QUINCY -- Taste some new vintages, enjoy a barbecue lunch and watch a cooking demonstration at the annual Cave B Estate Winery red wine release event on July 18. The winery, high on the cliffs above the Columbia River, offers spectacular views as well as a luxury resort inn.
The event are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $49 per person and includes a People's Choice Rating Event where contestants can taste and rate five different varietals. Later, Executive Chef Shauna Schriver will share some of her tricks of the trade in a cooking demonstration followed by a barbecue luncheon featuring Cave B wines and live music.
Braiden Rex-Johnson also will be on hand signing copies of her latest book Northwest Wining & Dining.

Taste Victoria festival
VICTORIA -- Vancouver Island cuisine and British Columbia wines will be center stage at British Columbia's festival Taste: Victoria's Festival of Food and Wine on July 16-19.
The festival will be held at venues throughout downtown Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula and the Cowichan Valley,
The weekend kicks off July 16 with The Main Event, an evening of B.C. wine tasting along with samples of Vancouver Island cuisine at the Victoria Conference Centre's Crystal Garden.
Wine and food seminars fill the remainder of the festival agenda covering such topics as "Women of BC Wine," "Riesling Rules," "Chocoholics Anonymous" and "Tea and Terroir."
