PENDLETON -- Joe Nichols kicks off the musical entertainment for the Pendleton Round-Up.
His concert starts at 7 p.m. Sept. 6 in the Happy Canyon arena next to the rodeo grounds in Pendleton.
Tickets cost from $20 to $110, depending on seat location.
Also appearing with Nichols will be Jason Michael Carroll.
Nichols burst onto the country music scene in 1996 with a self-titled album, but didn't really gain national attention until he released the single The Impossible in 2002, which climbed to No. 3 on the country music charts.
Carroll, who looks more like a California surfer than a Nashville rocker, is one of the new kids in the country music scene.
The concert kicks off Pendleton Round-Up festivities, which include eight days of world champion rodeo events, Indian pageantry shows each night starting at 7:45 p.m. in the Happy Canyon outdoor theater, and parade starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 12 that goes through downtown Pendleton.
For tickets to all Pendleton Round-Up events, call 800-457-6336.
