Benton County gets credit rating boost

Tri-City HeraldJuly 11, 2014

Benton County's credit rating has been upgraded by Standard & Poor's Rating Services from AA to AA-plus, county Treasurer Duane A. Davidson announced.

Strength in the local economy was a contributing factor, along with strong management within county government, a treasurer's news release said, noting that management, budgetary performance, liquidity, budget flexibility and debt and contingent liabilities were recognized.

The credit upgrade will help with lower rates for future bond issuances and savings on financing costs.
