Dust Devils end trip with 5-2 loss at Spokane

July 10, 2014

The Tri-City Dust Devils capped their six-game road trip and three-day stay in Spokane with a familiar result, struggling to runs on the board in a 5-2 loss to the Indians on Thursday in Northwest League baseball.

Spokane’s bullpen threw four scoreless innings to make sure the Dust Devils stayed down after Marcus Greene drew a two-out walk with the bases loaded in the fifth to give the Indians a 3-2 lead. Tri-City reliever Grahamm Wiest nearly escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam with a popup and a strikeout before issuing the free pass.

Third baseman Josh Fuentes went 2-for-4, but the Dust Devils managed just five hits, none for extra bases.

The two teams come to Tri-City to start a three-game set at Gesa Stadium starting today.
