Tri-City HeraldJuly 10, 2014

Today could be the only day in the Tri-Cities with a high temperature below 100 degrees for awhile, according to the National Weather Service.

It predicts a high of about 97 degrees today, with highs then climbing to 102 on Saturday. Highs should continue to be as hot as 105 degrees through Thursday. The normal high for the Tri-Cities in July is 90 degrees.

The weather service is advising people to drink plenty of fluids, check on the elderly and make sure pets have water and shade.
