Columbia Irrigation District urges odd-even day watering

Tri-City HeraldJuly 10, 2014

Columbia Irrigation District officials are asking their customers to consider watering on alternate days until the projected 10-day heat wave passes.

Hot weather and high temperatures are expected to lead to low water in the canals starting today.

The district is asking water users to alternate watering days using an even and odd address method while the water levels remain low. That means property owners with an even-numbered address should water on even-numbered calendar days, and those with odd-number addresses should water on odd-numbered calendar days.

Alternating water days is completely voluntary.

For more information, call the district office at 509-586-6118.
