Authorities are searching for a Dayton woman who apparently disappeared while camping along the Snake River in northeast Oregon.

Sharon I. Mathews, 65, went missing on Sunday while camping with a group of people near Geneva Bar in Wallowa County, according to the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office. The group left Mathews, who can’t swim, on a beach area while they were out boating.

When the group returned to the beach, Mathews was gone, the sheriff’s office said. Her dog and shoes were at the beach.

Authorities with the Oregon State Police, Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office, Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office and U.S Forest Service searched the river Wednesday for any sign of the woman.

Mathews is 4-foot-10, 100 pounds and was last seen wearing a bikini, the sheriff’s office said. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call their local law enforcement agency.
