Letter -- Congress: Cicotte

July 1, 2014

I attended the Republican candidate forum June 18, where we had the opportunity to listen to eight citizens vying for the U.S. Congressional seat being vacated by Doc Hastings' announced retirement.

I saw eight candidates who fervently offered their services in our behalf.

I understand and sympathize with the passionate pleas from so many of them who would axe government agencies, kill the Federal Reserve, repeal Obamacare, impeach the president and pledge to be our warrior in Congress, etc.

However, George Cicotte seemed practical, grounded and believable.

He had conservative passion, a clear vision and a well-thought-out written plan of objectives. Other candidates pounded the drum on Obamacare repeal.

Cicotte stated a reality that Obamacare is with us at least until the next president takes office in 2016 because of presidential veto powers. Other candidates ignored this fact.

With his legal background in health care law, Cicotte offered leadership to craft legislation to ease the pain of this law until it can be repealed and replaced.

It appears Cicotte has the right professional background and will be more effective for us as a U.S. congressman than any other candidate.
