Campers warned about Lake Roosevelt rising

Tri-City HeraldJune 30, 2014

Campers along the shoreline of Lake Roosevelt during the July 4 weekend are being warned of rapidly rising lake levels.

The lake is expected to be at an elevation of 1,286 feet on Thursday. Lake levels are expected to rise up to 6 inches each day during the holiday weekend, according to the Bureau of Reclamation. Campsites that are too close to the water's edge could be flooded, and boats that are not properly secured could drift out into the lake.
